The actual bridge over the River Kwai exists in Thailand, but Director David Lean utilized his wooden bridge installation for a dramatic scene depicting the explosion of a train on the bridge. Six decades later, the remnants of the ancient bridge may still be seen. Walk down to the area and have a great time.
